The organization for the promotion
of human rights in central Africa (APDHAC) is a center of information,
research and teaching on human rights and the humanitarian issues,
created in 1997 within the Catholic university of central Africa
Yaoundé.
It is very interested by the forum
and this for two reasons:
- The improvement of the EU-ACP partnership is a positive
perspective for the development of central Africa and therefore
for the improvement of the protection and the enjoyment of
human rights of populations of this region;
- The economic and social rights must find their fundamental
position in the EU-ACP relations, in particular the right
to the education, the right to health and the right of the
decent life conditions...
We dare to believe that the discussion
on the EU-ACP relations is not going to be limited to the general
considerations and that it would be possible to consider and
to do some concrete proposals, for example in the field of the
debt, where the APDHAC calls for a humanitarian conversion of
this heavy debt of States of central Africa in programs of promotion
of economic and social rights implemented and managed by the
emergent and even fragile civil society.
We will study the three topics proposed
for the discussion and we will intervene of more thorough way
as soon as possible.
