Geographer - sociologist, specialized in management of territories, it has
been about ten years that I work on the topic of farmers' organizations as
in charge of study on the field, consultant or network coordinator. I am
currently in charge of the moderation of a work group of Inter-Réseaux on
"the assessment of continued support to the farmers' organizations".
Inter-Réseaux encourages sharing of information, experiences, and points of
view among individuals belonging to the varied professional contexts of the
South and the North: farmers' organizations, NGOs, research consultancies,
researchers, trainers, academics, administration and aid-agency officials,
representatives of the civil society and decentralized cooperation. It
ensures also the capitalization of these works and their circulation to a
broad public. More than 4000 people are put in contact and about 400 people
participate in activities regularly. Among topics of "strategic interest"
for rural development, Inter-Réseaux works currently on the assessment of
the support brought to organizations of producers, and the financing of
agriculture.
