I have been working in AFRICA (R.D.Congo; Uganda; Ethiopia;
Mozambique) for 16 years as science teacher (6 years) and adult education
trainer. Training civil society groups in a participatory way, helping them
to take in hand their lifes and the development of their community. Working
on Justice issues with local communities and at organisational level.
At present I am Associate Executive Secretary at AFRICA-EUROPE FAITH AND
JUSTICE NETWORK. AEFJN has members in all African and European countries
and groups in all European and some African countries. The network aims at
promoting more just and equitable relations between the people of Africa
and the people of Europe. Our members in Africa influence the choice of the
issues we address and the recomendations for actions. We do advocacy work:
campaigning to create awareness and lobbying the EU and the member states.
The main issue in our Action Plan is the Post-Lomé negociations. We also
work the FOOD SECURITY, biodiversity; the remission of DEBT; the problem of
ARMS and chil soldiers; health... Most of our members work at the grassroot
level, with local communities.
I am interested in all the decisions that might influence the life of the
African people. I am working at the FOOD SECURITY and as part of it: the
Intelectual property rights on plant varieties, the biodiversity, the
TRADE and the DEBT issues.
I expect from this Forum to be able to share on the way the cooperation
between the ACP and the EU or its member states could be improved.
