** Title: Summary 1: subscriptions and introductions (10/05 - 28/05) **

by: Moderation (Denis Pansu) <moderation@ue-acp.org>

Dear forum participants,

So far, we are 50 persons subscribed to this EU-ACP debating forum.

We extended the subscription period a little more than planned so that the number of participants taking part at the outset of discussions would be significant. Of course, subscription to the forum will remain open throughout the entire debating period, i.e. until the end of October: you may therefore spread the word within your networks. Please do!

Reminder: This is a blingual English-French debate. You may therefore choose the language in which you feel most comfortable. If you wish to switch to the other language, please send a message to that effect to the moderation address: <moderation@ue-acp.org>.

Introductions need to be completed
------------------------------------------------------

To date, 18 out of the 50 persons on this list have introduced themselves. If you haven't done so yet, please do. As there will be new arrivals all along the debating period, you should expect to be reading new introductions regularly.

The French-speaking world is over-represented
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To date, there are:
- 44 French-speaking persons
- 6 English-speaking persons

We are seeking a balance between the two "worlds". You can help us by informing your English-speaking colleagues of this debate and inviting them to take part in it. The debate will be all the richer.

NGOs are strongly represented
----------------------------------------------

NGOs = 60%
EUROPEAN INSTITUTIONS = 20%
EXPERTS = 9%
UNIVERSITIES = 9%
PARLIAMENT = 1%
THE MEDIA = 1%

Geographic location of participants : Europe is in a strong position
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Europe = 73%
Africa = 21%
Caribbean = 2%
Pacific = 2%
Other = 2%

New on the Web site <http://www.ue-acp.org>
